"Are you going to do something, or just stand there and bleed?"

The Mask.

As I walk down the ranks, I hear my name whispered, proceeding me. Like wind through tall grass. I see their faces, I know a few names, but they all know mine. Every time someone leaves whose name I knew I feel as if my reign is waning, that I too will fade and be a ghost going through the motions. Yet every week a bus drops more off, and they inevitably know my name and join in the whispers. I have their respect. I earned it. I’m not the one on the podium, but I’m the one they listen to. I’m damn good at this. Often someone will say they want to be me. That I have it all figured out. I hear compliments daily about my looks, my skills, my talent. I’m the top of my class and it doesn’t surprise anyone. Many believe me to be a man of equal stature and class as Clark Kent, and often I’m called that. The females here refer to me as eye candy. Something they desire, but know to be unattainable. Many of the men here have told me they wish they were me. They want my life. And for the few lucky enough to see a picture of the girl I dream about, they  desire her too. They believe I’m perfect. Yet none of them know the truth.

I’m fucking miserable…

My fox tattoo being done at Magick Dragon Tatoo by Layla. Lot of personal reasons behind getting this tattoo, but the aforementioned quote stands out in my mind as a primary example of its significance to me.

See Mos Def (aka Yasiin Bey) and visual artist Niels Shoe Meulman pay tribute to the great Muhammad Ali in Louis Vuitton’s new videos. A fitting and remarkable tribute to “the prettiest fighter that ever will be”.
